Our annual fundraising gala, An Evening of Red, White & Blue will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Join us as we celebrate 75 years as The War Memorial - your community nonprofit and patriotic, cultural and community leader!

This year’s gala promises a delightful evening filled with live music, delectable cuisine, and exciting activities - featuring a 75th anniversary celebration with a live auction! You can learn more about the event below.

Our Mission

The funds raised at this event will play a pivotal role in restoring and preserving our historic buildings and grounds, specifically the 1910 Alger House. Your participation will demonstrate your support of the legacy and mission of our organization, ensuring that future generations can continue to benefit from the patriotic, cultural and community leadership we strive to provide.

Your Evening

6:00 pm: Cocktails and Live Music in the historic Alger House, The Moorings

7:15 pm: Remarks and Dinner in Fred M. Alger Center Ballroom*

8:30 pm: Live Auction in Ballroom

9:00 pm: Dessert

*The main course will include a char-grilled Prime filet and Creole crab cake, served with dauphinoise potato and braised carrots. Please specify any dietary restrictions or allergies with your RSVP. A vegetarian option will be provided upon RSVP request.

Live Auction and Wine Pull

This elegant evening includes a wine pull with an assortment of special prizes and an engaging live auction showcasing a selection of enchanting experiences.

From trips to Mexico, Manhattan and Mackinac Island, to local experiences on Lake St. Clair, at The War Memorial, or in your own home - there’s an exciting item for everyone!
