Calligraphy: Introduction to the Pointed Pen and Flourishes

Be introduced to the flowing flourishes of calligraphy!

This day-long workshop begins with an introduction to this craft in the morning and instructions on main calligraphy skills. Then the afternoon will be spent playing with different flourishes, including some that form into a hearts, flowers and decorative borders of all sorts to complement your next love note!

Teacher will supply paper and items needed for projects.

Additional nibs, nib holders, ink and ink wells will be available for purchase for a discounted rate of $16 per student.

Ages 16 years and up

Students should bring paper towels, a small water cup, a notebook, pencil and eraser, and a 12 inch ruler.

Please also bring a brown bag lunch for the 30 minute lunch break.

Calligraphy: Introduction to the Pointed Pen and Flourishes is taught by Vicki Corwin

Vicki Corwin has been a professional Calligrapher for over 20 years.  Classically trained in historic as well as modern alphabet styles, Vicki offers instruction in multiple calligraphic genres, from beginning to advanced letter forms and techniques  She has served on the Board of the Michigan Association of Calligraphers for many years and has served as President multiple terms.  She resides in Royal Oak and works from her in-home art studio.
