Veteran Seminar: Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention

For the second veterans educational seminar of the year at The War Memorial, we take a look at ways to support veterans through the various means of professional help that exists for suicide prevention and for those looking to recover from alcohol use. The April seminar will coincide with Alcohol Awareness Month.

The free seminar and lunch is planned for Thursday, April 25, led by representatives from Volunteers of America Michigan and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Veterans Committee, new in 2023, has a goal to offer more initiatives and programs for veterans. From family events to seminars that are pertinent to those who have honorably served our country, The War Memorial is eager to give back to our veterans!

The deadline to register for lunch is April 19 at 5 p.m. Registrations made after that time will be for the seminar only.
