Kids Coalition Against Hunger is back!
On Saturday, March 15, our neighbor and community partner, Grosse Pointe Memorial Church will be taking over The War Memorial and hosting a food packaging event and packing 50,000 meals!
Event Details
Packaging will take in The Alger Center at The War Memorial.
Shifts are available from 10 am – 12 pm, and 12 – 2 pm.
We are calling all members, friends, seniors, parents, students, scouts, honor societies, service clubs – anyone who wants to help pack nutritious meals for the hungry. Some will go overseas, some will be served locally and some meals will be saved for disaster relief. There is so much need – won’t you help?
All ages from 5 – 105 are welcome, so bring the whole family.
For those 5 – 7 years old, an adult helper is needed!
Kids Coalition Against Hunger is a 501(c)3 humanitarian food aid organization. Its mission is to significantly reduce the number of undernourished children locally and around the world. The meals are packaged by volunteers and delivered to starving people with the help of the coalition’s worldwide partners.
Since 1998, Kids Coalition Against Hunger has packaged over 54 million meals with 450 thousand volunteers. Every day 14,500 children under the age of twelve die from hunger related diseases. One food pack will provide six adult meals at .35 cents per meal, or $2.10 a packet.
