"Nostalgia“ a Japanese Woodblock Workshop with Nobuko Yamasaki

Saturday June 21 and 28 and July 12

Brought to you by the Grosse Pointe Artist Association:

Everyone has childhood memories. Sometimes a small toy or special item can lead you back in time.

For this workshop you are asked to sketch that toy or special item and bring it to class.

During class we will transfer your nostalgic sketch to a Shina plywood board from Japan, then carve the board from which we will make prints using special Japanese brushes with watercolor.

If you have taken one of Nobuko's workshops in the past, please bring your tools.

If you are new to Japanese woodblock printing, Nobuko will loan you carving tools.

For all students she will provide an 8inx10in Shina board and paper.

Registrations will close June 7 so materials can be ordered from Japan.
