Holiday Magic
Join us for the next installment of our new Second Saturdays Series at the War Memorial! We’ve got a fun Saturday morning line-up for kids and their families. Each program is just $10 per child (adults are free and so is the coffee!).
Doors open at 9am, with all activities set up station style, and the onstage holiday sing-a-long scheduled for 10:15am. Details on activities below.
Modeling Clay Ornament
Sculpt a modeling clay ornament with art instruction from Creative Nature, then take it home and add it to your tree!
Cookie Decorating
Decorate a cookie with this fun paint and eat activity! Dietary note, all cookies will be nut free.
Onstage Show - Holiday Sing-A-Long!
Gather round the piano for a Holiday Sing-A-Long! Artist Kevin Devine will lead kids through a variety of holiday carols.
Ornament Decorating
Kids will receive an ornament to color, decorate and make their own! Take them home and add them to your tree, or we’ll also have gift bags and tags onsite to make these ornaments an easy Grandparent gift!
Storytime & Coloring
For our littlest attendees or siblings that might not be quite ready for all the science fun, we’ll have Storytime and coloring to occupy them!
About our Second Saturdays Series
The second Saturday of each month, join us for crafts, activities, games, an onstage performance and more family-friendly fun! These themed monthly events are designed to provide a preview of some of the classes, camps and other experiences we host at the War Memorial throughout the year. Meet some of our instructors and learn more about programs offered at the War Memorial before you commit to a whole session. Plus there’s free coffee for parents, and an indoor place for the kids to run around and burn some energy during those long Michigan Winter weekends. Each session just $10, or get all six sessions for $50. See you there!
