Something New in Printing: Try Gomuban with Nobuko Yamasaki

In this workshop, Nobuko will introduce Gomuban, a soft, very easy to carve synthetic rubber plate that is used extensively in Japanese classrooms as a relief printing block.

Gomuban is stiff so it holds very fine details and crisp edges even under pressure from a press.

Nobuko will provide Gomuban plates, knives, paper and ink.

You will need to bring your simple 6inx8in design.

Registrations close on Sept. 6, so materials can be ordered.

The workshop is in the Grosse Pointe Artists Association studio at The War Memorial.
