Edition No. 1: A Letter from the President and CEO
Dear friends,
We live in difficult times filled with chaos and uncertainty, clearly challenging our sense of everyday normalcy.
Throughout the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, The War Memorial has boldly forged a future as an experiential space unlike any other in Michigan, where art and music live, where laughter and love are shared, where memories are made, and debates are heard. We have continued our commitment to be a place that honors inclusive and accessible American values as we actively aspire to build a more perfect Union. The pandemic has empowered us to reaffirm our promise as a patriotic, cultural, and community leader organization.
We are trying something new, positive, and interesting — a community-wide experiment. Inspired Thoughts is an online resource to cut through virtual chaos while presenting fresh programming from a variety of sources, including concerts, films, lectures, articles, history lessons, and virtual events. Each week we will offer a curated stream of curious, thought-provoking, and inspiring content that underscores our mission while offering programming from around the globe for you, our War Memorial audience. Personally, I am looking forward to this new programming adventure as we reinforce The War Memorial’s culture and mission.
As a responsive and collaborative organization, we invite you to share your ideas with us for upcoming content. What should our neighbors and community experience? What are your ideas of patriotic, cultural, and community leadership programming? Share, engage, and activate your online creativity — we will.
So, in the spirit of exploration, we thank you and invite you to enjoy Inspired Thoughts. Click here for our inaugural edition.
