This will be the Junior League of Detroit’s 22nd Designers’ Show House. This biennial event is our largest fundraiser and an extremely popular public event. Funds raised support the JLD’s many community programs, including grants, college scholarships, and our recent initiatives: Project EAT that connects Education, Access and Tools to promote healthy eating, as well as partnerships with Cass Community Social Services, Forgotten Harvest and the Empowerment Plan.
The Fisher Mansion located at 670 West Boston Boulevard is the largest home of the Historic Boston Edison neighborhood in the heart of Detroit. Architect George D. Mason built this 18,000 sq ft estate in 1922 for Charles and Sarah Fisher. The three-story English Tudor-style mansion features the finest materials and best craftsmanship, including Flint faience tiles in the Solarium and bathrooms, black walnut hand-carved panels and hand-carved lions holding the original Cadillac shield. The estate includes 14 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, 6 fireplaces and 4 vaults.
Nationally recognized and local interior designers will bring this magnificent home into the twenty-first century, while talented landscapers will transform the gardens.
