SummerFest 2025 Heats Up with Concerts, Outdoor Movies, and More at The War Memorial

GROSSE POINTE FARMS April 24, 2025 – Concerts? Check. Movies? Check. Summertime? Check.

The War Memorial is excited to announce the lineup for SummerFest 2025, featuring a vibrant mix of live music and, new this year, two outdoor movie nights. From jazz and country to party hits and Motown soul, this year’s Summerfest has something for everyone. Highlights include a screening of the animated action-comedy Dog Man on July 23 and a lively Wicked Sing-Along on August 20. Wicked Sing-Along invites guests to relive the beloved story of the witches of Oz —with lyrics on screen so everyone can sing along.

“The War Memorial is a community gathering place all year long, but summer is when it shines the brightest. Our diverse lineup of free programming welcomes everyone to celebrate summer here in Metro Detroit’s backyard,” said Jennifer Sutton, Director of Public Programs and Special Events.

On August 27, The War Memorial is proud to partner with the world-famous Motown Museum which will present a showstopping LIVE Motown-inspired performance.

All SummerFest events are free and open to all. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, or enjoy the festivities from your boat. Concerts and movies are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, they will be moved indoors to the Fred M. Alger Center Ballroom at The War Memorial.

Returning for SummerFest this year is the option to support The War Memorial’s commitment to providing low-cost family-friendly programming by purchasing a VIP ticket, starting at $40. VIP tickets include reserved seating areas on the balcony overlooking the lawn and Lake St. Clair or near the front of the stage for an up-close and thrilling view of the show. Each VIP area offers a private cash bar, and a complimentary beverage.
