American Democracy Live Event | Bridge Builders: Bringing People Together in Today’s Polarized Age

Online discussion and live Q&A featuring author and USA Today reporter Nathan Bomey

Join us on January 12 as we hear from Nathan Bomey, author of Bridge Builders: Bringing People Together in a Polarized Age, as he discusses his new book which looks at how some Americans are able to bridge political divides and combat polarization by pursuing reconciliation, rejecting misinformation, and rethinking the principle of compromise.

Nathan last visited with us in October about Detroit’s historic municipal bankruptcy that he covered for the Detroit Free Press.

About Nathan Bomey

Nathan Bomey is a business reporter for USA TODAY and author of three nationally published nonfiction books, including his first, Detroit Resurrected: To Bankruptcy and Back (W.W. Norton, 2016). Nathan is also serving as the principal scriptwriter on a full-length documentary film about the bankruptcy. In addition to Detroit Resurrected, Nathan is also the author of Bridge Builders: Bringing People Together in a Polarized Age (Polity Press, 2021) and After the Fact: The Erosion of Truth and the Inevitable Rise of Donald Trump (2018, Prometheus Books).
