If you ever thought you might want to go to Yale, this is your chance.
Professor Joanne Freeman, Yale’s Class of 1954 Professor of American History and American Studies, is a particular favorite of ours. She is a leading expert on politics and political violence in the early republic. We’ve previously featured Professor Freeman in Inspired Thoughts and a reading of the Declaration of Independence that she did with some of her colleagues and students has become a July 4th tradition for the American Democracy Initiative.
Professor Freeman’s course on the American Revolution is one of the best-known and most-popular courses at Yale. Lecture One including, “Freeman’s Top Five Tips for Studying the Revolution” is available at the link below as is a full course description, readings list, and information on how to access the rest of her course (there are 25 lectures in all).
