Second Saturdays at TWM: Sing in Spring

Second Saturdays at The War Memorial
Sing in Spring

Join us for the next installment of our new Second Saturdays Series at the War Memorial! We’ve got a fun Saturday morning line-up for kids and their families. Each program is just $10 per child (adults are free and so is the coffee!).

Doors open at 9am, with all activities set up station style, and the onstage performance scheduled for 10:00am. Details on activities below.

Onstage Show - Music Together Family Jam

Gather round for a sing-a-long stage show! Beginning at 10:00am, the Music Together Family Jam will be lead by longtime instructor Miss Emily from Hummingbirds Music Together. For more information on their Thursday series at the War Memorial and other offerings, click here

Instrument Show & Tell

Volunteers from Detroit Harmony will be at the March edition of Second Saturdays with musical instruments for kids to discover!

Plant a Seed Craft

Decorate a flower pot with craft markers, then choose your favorite seed packet and plant them for a fun way to take spring home with you!

Musical Instrument Craft

Kids can make a fun tambourine or pair of maracas, then play along during our stage show!

Modeling Clay Sculpture

Join Creative Nature for a fun modeling clay sculpting activity! Creative Nature has several summer art camps planned - parents can learn more about summer offerings as kids make a sculpture!

Upcoming Creative Nature Class at TWM: Mid-Winter Break Art Camp!

Storytime & Coloring

For our littlest attendees or siblings that might not be quite ready for all the crafting fun, we’ll have storytime and coloring to occupy them!

About our Second Saturdays Series

The second Saturday of each month, join us for crafts, activities, games, an onstage performance and more family-friendly fun! These themed monthly events are designed to provide a preview of some of the classes, camps and other experiences we host at the War Memorial throughout the year. Meet some of our instructors and learn more about programs offered at the War Memorial before you commit to a whole session. Plus there’s free coffee for parents, and an indoor place for the kids to run around and burn some energy during those long Michigan Winter weekends. Each session just $10, or get all six sessions for $50. See you there!
