Make a Special Print: Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop With Nobuko Yamasaki.
Registration deadline is Friday, February 21, so supplies can be ordered from Japan.
Classes are March 8, 15, & 22nd
Brought to you by the Grosse Pointe Artist Association:
Everyone has a memorable small item sitting around at home. For this workshop bring your special souvenir or important item to sketch. We will then carve the sketch into a special 8inx10in board for printing. Our final step will be printing in one or two colors.
For this workshop all you have to bring is your special item and Nobuko will provide the board, knives, paper and ink.
This is an exceptional opportunity to learn more about the ancient Japanese woodblock process with a celebrated artist and teacher.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Because supplies will be ordered from Japan, registrations must be in by Friday, Feb. 21.
About the teacher:
"She shares her vast knowledge and understanding of Japanese woodblock and guides students with kind words from an experienced artistic perspective. She approaches each student with respect for their vision and skillfully guides them along. There are many art educators, but when you find one that takes pride in the success of a student and joyfully celebrates their accomplishments, you know you’re in good hands. Nobuko is just that."
