Selfridge Air Museum celebrates Vietnam War veterans

Join the Selfridge Military Air Museum in commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Paris Peace Accords and saluting the men and women who served in the Vietnam War.

May 20-21, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the museum, located at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township, get a glimpse into what it was like serving during that conflict. It will feature The Michigan Vietnam Veterans Traveling Memorial Wall which will be on exhibit, historic military impressions, military vehicles, and Mission BBQ which will be on site with their mobile smoker “Brutus,” providing their famous BBQ pulled pork and brisket.

It was announced earlier this month that the museum's “Salute to Vietnam Veterans Weekend” has been recognized as a Commemorative Partner in the Department of Defense Program to salute the men and women who served in Vietnam.

Separate from the May 20-21 event, the Selfridge Military Air Museum is hosting a Patriot Gallery exhibit at The War Memorial which features artifacts and pictures from World War II. The exhibit is located on the lower level of The Alger Center.
