GPAA presents Promising Artists Exhibition
The 8th annual Promising Artists Exhibition is currently on display at the Grosse Pointe Artists Association at The War Memorial.
This year marks the largest Promising Artists Exhibition yet, with 100 Artists from 19 metro Detroit communities. It includes work by high school students from areas like Canton, Clinton Township, Dearborn, Detroit, Eastpointe, Fraser, and the five Grosse Pointes.
Juror and artist Evan Condron drew on his years working in arts programming to sort through the almost 200 works entered by more than 100 high school art students to create the show.
The show runs thru June 7 in the Grosse Pointe Artists Association gallery on The War Memorial campus.

DAR to dedicate special marker at Memorial Day ceremony
A time-honored tradition continues at The War Memorial.
On this reverent Memorial Day, we will gather at the base of Les Braves II: At Water’s Edge sculpture, where we will pause and reflect on the selfless souls who gave everything to defend our freedoms. The gathering is set for Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m.
A feature of this year’s Memorial Day ceremony will be when The Louisa St. Clair Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in Grosse Pointe will dedicate a Revolutionary War Patriots marker.
