Detroit presents Disney animation immersive experience

This immersive experience will take you inside some of the greatest films of Walt Disney Animation Studios, all the way from their earliest creations of Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid to the beloved modern hit movies such as Encanto and Frozen. Step into the art and celebrate the legacy of Walt Disney as you fully immerse yourself in the music and artistry of their most famous films. Learn how animators map out scenes, the real-world locations that inspire their work and how they bring your favorite Disney classics to life.  

The experience is running until August 13th at Lighthouse ArtSpace located in downtown Detroit.

Sterlingfest begins today, offers three days of summer fun

For three days in Macomb County this week, folks can celebrate the height of summer.

Sterlingfest in Sterling Heights runs from today to Saturday near Dodge Park. The summer festival features a concert series, plenty of activities for kids and family, and restaurant row. Concerts at the main stage include Hip Hop Hooray on July 27, Steven Adler of Guns N' Roses on July 28, and Ann Wilson of Heart on July 29.

At the Kidzfest Stage, families can enjoy free activities and live family entertainment throughout the festival. An assortment of Sterling Heights dining establishments will bring their show on the road to offer delicious entries, snacks and desserts at Restaurant Row in the center of the fairgrounds.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and the arts and crafts fair is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The festival is located on the City of Sterling Heights campus at 40555 Utica Road.
