Bluewater Kings: The Soul Experience
Join us tonight, August 17th at The War Memorial for an unforgettable performance by the Bluewater Kings. The band was established locally in 2012 and is composed of some of the top musicians in Detroit, creating an exciting experience for all ages. Playing hits ranging from Motown and Funk to Soul and Top 40, the Bluewater Kings will have everyone on their feet.
Grounds open at 6:30 pm and the concert begins at 7:30 pm.

Phase 1 dedication ceremony held at World War II Legacy Memorial
Aug. 10, phase 1 dedication of The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial was held at Memorial Park in Royal Oak. World War II veterans and original Rosie the Riveters were on hand.
The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial is working toward building a permanent memorial that will provide a year-round multipurpose destination telling Michigan's unique story. The memorial’s mission is to bridge generations by honoring Michigan's legacy of ingenuity, sacrifice and commitment on the warfront and home front as visitors are inspired to meet the challenges of today.
The ceremony included the recognition of veterans and veteran groups; a moment of silence for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice; and remarks from public officials. It concluded with a B-17 flyover of the Yankee Lady.
